CANDLEBOX: Full-Length Versions Of Two New Songs Posted Online

Full-length versions of two new CANDLEBOX songs — "Stand" and "Surrendering" — are available for streaming via the band's MySpace page. Both tracks are expected to appear on the reunited band's first album of new material, tentatively due later in the year. A live concert DVD, entitled "Alive in Seattle", is also slated for release before the end of 2007.

Frontman Kevin Martin, who admires the political stances of artists such as GREEN DAY, NEIL YOUNG and SYSTEM OF A DOWN, told RollingStone.com last year that he wants to use his new music to speak out on the issues as well. "There hasn't been a great musical movement since the early Nineties, and hopefully that changes," he said. Martin pointed to the new CANDLEBOX song "Stand". "It's not a new concept — it deals with exactly what we've been talking about: 'Stand up for who you are,'" he explains. "People want great music. And if you can give them great music that has a point and is poignant, I think you can change people's opinions."

Rhino Records in May 2006 released "The Best of Candlebox", featuring all of the single releases from CANDLEBOX's previous three albums as well as a few additional album tracks and the song "Glowing Soul", which was featured on the soundtrack for the movie "The Waterboy".
